Your first roll.
1. Create a roll and choose your scans. Set half-frame if each scan contains two exposures.
2. Open a frame and sample a clear film border. Avoid sprocket holes and the holder.
3. Use Auto, or Auto colour for a new colour starting point. Review and refine.
4. Tune a reference and sync its colour and tone across the roll.
5. Review crops, then export new files from the original scans.
How do I crop half-frame scans?
Select Half-frame camera when creating the roll. Each scan becomes two photos, A and B. In Crop, select Half 1 or Half 2, review the detected boundary, and apply each crop. The other half is outlined as a reference. If detection fails, select both regions manually. A 36-scan roll exports 72 photos.
Why is my positive still blue?
A film-base sample does not characterize every dye layer or lighting setup. Auto preserves existing calibration; Auto colour explicitly estimates new channel balance. It’s a starting point, especially for expired film and strongly coloured scenes. Review white balance and curves afterwards.
Why does the first frame take time to load?
The first uncached RAW still needs decoding. Roll prepares the rest of the roll in the background, prioritizing nearby frames, then uses cached display previews while the full editor refreshes.
How do I activate a purchased licence?
Paste the signed key into Settings and choose Activate offline. Check your system clock if a key reports a time error. See licensing availability.
